Training Fund highlighted in report, honored at launch of Center for Apprenticeship & Work-Based Learning

Training Fund among a handful of national partners honored in Washington, DC as Jobs for the Future launches first virtual center for Apprenticeship and WBL programming

November 9th, 2017: The District 1199C Training & Upgrading Fund was among a handful of elite honorees at Celebrate Apprenticeship & Work-Based Learning, a gathering of over 350 industry and workforce leaders in Washington, DC organized by national nonprofit Jobs for the Future (JFF).

Innovators and leaders from the work-based learning community were publicly honored for their work. Honorees included keynote speaker Governor John Hickenlooper whose leadership in Colorado is helping establish 20,000 apprentices by 2026, Amazon, Apprenticeship Carolina, Aon, Carroll County (GA) Chamber of Commerce, CVS Health, FASTPORT, Guilford Apprenticeship Partners, The Hartford, North America’s Building Trades Unions, National Association of State and Territorial Apprenticeship Directors, Vice Media LLC, Robert Lerman, U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship, Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership (WRTP/BIG STEP), Wireless Industry Association, and Zurich Insurance North America, as well as the Training Fund.

Additionally, the Training Fund's Behavioral Health Youth Pre-Apprenticeship Program was highlighted in one of the first Center for Apprenticeship & Work-Based Learning published reports on promising practices, available for download at:
