Phila Hospitality Academy
There is a nationwide shortage of cooks and associated roles. The Training Fund has partnered with Unite Here (a union representing hotel, gaming, and food service workers) to offer the Philadelphia Hospitality Academy.
At the end of this FREE 120-hour training program, students will receive nationally recognized culinary credentials including the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) Certified Kitchen Cook and ServSafe Certifications.

Participants will receive:
- Employment at Citizen’s Bank Park or Wells Fargo Center
- Academic preparation for this training program and continued education beyond
- A basic knife kit
- Two (2) sets of uniforms (including chef jackets, hats, and aprons)
- Personalized career coaching during the training program and beyond
- One-on-one financial coaching during the training program and beyond
Eligibility
Interested candidates must meet the following entrance requirements:
- Have a minimum 8th grade reading level
- Have a clear criminal background (some offences will not disqualify)
- Be unemployed or underemployed
- Be able to attend ALL classes held at Dobbins High School (2150 W Lehigh Ave)
- Be able to work a full-time job at completion of the program
