FREE ESL/English Literacy, Citizenship and Civics Classes

For people learning English as a Second Language


Classes are 6 hours each week for a minimum of 65 hours

All students MUST take Entrance AND Exit Exams - by appointment only

English Literacy and Civics students will:

  • Improve Reading & Writing Skills
  • Study U.S. Government & History
  • Set Workforce & Career Goals
  • Volunteer for Community Service
  • Prepare for the Naturalization / Citizenship Test and Interview
  • Become United States Citizens!

Students must be 16 years or older, living in any U.S. state. Classes are scheduled...

Tuesday and Thursdays:

  • Beginning EL Civics: 9:00AM-12:00PM
  • Intermediate EL Civics: 5:30PM-8:30PM
  • Advanced EL Civics: 5:30PM-8:30PM

Mondays and Wednesdays:

  • Advanced EL Civics: 9:00AM-12:00PM

Vocational ESL (VESL) students will:

  • Improve Reading & Writing Skills
  • Prepare for the U.S. Workplace
  • Set Workforce & Career Goals
  • Practice Interviews and Write a Résumé
  • Increase U.S Citizenship Knowledge & Volunteer for Community Service
  • Meet your employment goals!

Students must be work-ready, 17 year or older, and Pennsylvania residents. Classes are scheduled...
